It’s another installment of “On this day…” Alexander Graham Bell is probably my least favorite inventor, but only because he invented my least favorite everyday object. I hate talking on the phone. I will write you a novel of an email, but talking on the phone seems like the most pointless thing in the world. I enjoy using the telephone to call someone and deliver a quick and urgent message. That’s fantastic. But the weird, awkward-pausing conversations you have on the phone always strike me as insincere and just… weird. However, the dude had a pretty sweet beard, so here’s his homage.
